The book “UKRAINIAN FOLK FASHION | Ukrainian Traditional Fashion. Ethnophotography” delves into the multifaceted world of traditional Ukrainian dress. The photographs taken by the famous photographer Anna Senik, who is the founder of the Ukrainian ethnographic photography trend, feature clothes from nine ethnographic regions of Ukraine. Two more sections of the book are devoted to Ukrainian embroidery and jewelry. Anna\'s photo shoots resemble the visual storyboards of an epochal historical film, professionally captured on camera. Anna always tries to make all the images as authentic as possible, enlisting the help of the best specialists: ethnographers, collectors, and museum workers.
In order to provide the most reliable historical information, we invited a prominent Ukrainian ethnographer Yuriy Melnychuk to collaborate on the publication, who wrote in-depth informative texts and professional explanations about the geographical location of each region and the peculiarities of its clothing, embroidery, and jewelry. And this makes the book doubly valuable - in addition to being a unique, absolutely first modern visual guide to traditional Ukrainian folk costumes, it is also a historical reference book.
