The Schecter PT or \"Pete Townshend\" model as it unofficially stood for, was one of Schecter\'s earliest mass-produced guitar models. After about a decade of manufacturing replacement parts for Fender and Gibson guitars, Schecter decided to take a stab at making their own model, and boy did players (and Fender) take notice! Named the PT or \"Pete Townshend\" after the humbucker Tele that The Who\'s guitarist was playing at the time, Pete never officially endorsed or played one, but this was a very-well regarded model, and the most popular of Schecter\'s mid-80\'s catalogue. This model would eventually re-enter the Schecter\'s product line as the \"Saturn\" with some changes to make the fine folks at Fender a little happier.

This guitar has certainly been well-loved in its 4 decades of existence. Far from a museum piece, there are numerous small scratches, gashes, dings, and dents throughout. Some of the gold hardware has worn in some spots, oxidized in others. The neck is very comfortable, but there are some pox marks on the back of the neck from about the 8th fret to the neck joint. There are also some divots on the frets under the treble strings in the cowboy chord area, with the divots on the B and G extending to the 5th and 7th frets respectively.
