This is an unusually large and highly displayable vintage food-industry container. The gold-tone metal body and original paper label have honest surface wear consistent with age and previous use, while retaining a remarkable amount of the original graphics and lettering.

Original lid is included and fits very securely.
The metal body has scratches, scuffs, discoloration and areas of surface wear consistent with its history. The original paper label has staining, tears and some edge loss, but remains unusually complete and legible. Considering the size and intended commercial use of this container, it presents exceptionally well.
Battleship peanut butter is documented by the 1940s, although an exact production date for this particular tin has not been established. It is therefore described as vintage rather than antique.
