Beautiful collection of five vintage studio art pottery koi fish sculptures measuring approximately 11 inches in length. This matching group appears to have originated from the same pottery studio or artist series and features several unique glaze treatments, including deep cobalt blue glazes, red and white koi decoration, and a remarkable light blue crystalline glaze example displaying dramatic crystal formations throughout the body and fins.
The light blue crystalline glaze fish is the highlight of the collection and displays exceptional crystal growth patterns that create a different appearance from every viewing angle. All five fish share similar construction and appear to have been produced from related molds while showcasing different glaze experiments and finishes.
Unsigned studio pottery with crystalline glaze characteristics similar in style to the work of Bill Campbell and other American crystalline glaze artists. While no maker’s marks or signatures were found, the glaze techniques, studio pottery construction, and regional provenance suggest possible connections to the American studio pottery movement of the 1960s through 1980s.
Vintage pre-owned condition. One red fish has an old repair to the tail area with associated glaze loss. One red and white fish has minor damage around the base opening. Age-related wear, crazing, glaze variations, and signs of prior outdoor display are present.
