I have for sale an absolutely stunning hand carved fraternal folk art frame and photo.
AOUW (Ancient Order of United Workmen) Sioux City, Iowa Date: Late 19th Century
There\'s a couple chips to the edge of the photo cabinet cardstock, but overall it is in good condition. The hats all say Sioux City, which I am assuming means this frame probably was displayed at their chapter. It is an absolutely beautiful hand-carved frame that\'s solidly made, but there is no glass. It features a patriotic shield and crest, an anchor, and the letters AOUW in the center. The original back is present, but it is missing some nails & screws, so the photo is loose. I have provided (5) dozen enlarged photos below to give you a much more thorough view.
A great piece of 19th century folk craftsmanship. You won\'t find another like it.
