A beautiful, authentic Victorian mother of pearl and abalone shell calling card case, dating from the late 19th century.This elegant piece features an intricate central floral spray pattern on the main mother-of-pearl panels, beautifully framed by a colorful, iridescent border of diamond-shaped abalone shell mosaics. The natural iridescence catches the light beautifully from every angle.

Exterior: The central engraved panels and the vast majority of the abalone border are intact and vibrant. There is one tiny panel section missing on the side rim (see close-up photo).
Interior: The case opens and closes correctly. There is a small, minor chip on the inner rim/lip that is hidden when the case is closed
