Wonderful original vintage wooden guest book dated May 12, 1941.
This unusual guest register features wood front and back covers with a colorful rustic mountain scene depicting wildlife, evergreen trees and mountains beneath the word “Guests.”
The book is tied together along the spine with an army green cord and accented with dark decorative straps and domed hammered-style metal studs, giving it a fantastic rustic lodge or western cabin look.
The inside of the back cover is handwritten “May 12 - 1941.” Five pages contain handwritten names, addresses and other guest information from the period. The remaining pages are blank, making this an especially interesting combination of original 1940s ephemera and usable vintage stationery.
Measures approximately 8\" x 10\".
A really appealing piece for a vintage cabin, lodge, western, hunting, outdoors or Americana collection. It would also make an interesting piece of local-history or genealogy research because of the original names and addresses recorded inside.
Condition: Very good vintage condition for its approximately 85 years of age. The wooden covers have scattered scratches, nicks, dings and other expected surface wear from age and use. Paper shows normal age-related toning.
Five pages have original handwritten guest entries; the remaining pages are blank. Binding cord and decorative hardware are present as pictured. No bad odors detected. Please review all photos closely for condition and details.
