Beautiful vintage California Pottery shell-shaped serving dish featuring a sculptural scalloped form with raised shell ridges and an unusual mottled metallic gold finish over pale pink/cream pottery. Small rounded well at one end makes this a wonderful appetizer, condiment, candy or nut dish—or a striking decorative catchall.
This piece was originally the smaller component of a larger California Pottery serving set. The larger companion platter, which is no longer available due to breakage, carried the maker’s signature/mark on its underside. This smaller coordinating piece itself is unmarked, and the price reflects the absence of the marked companion piece.
