Vintage 1968 Mattel \"The World of Barbie\" Doll Carrying Case (Model #1002) with Vintage Clothing & Accessory Estate Lot
Up for sale is a fantastic, unsearched vintage Barbie \"closet lot\" straight from a local estate. This set features a classic 1968 vinyl carrying case packed with an assortment of vintage doll clothing and accessories, perfect for collectors, restoration projects, or boosting your vintage doll wardrobe!
What’s Included:
• 1968 \"The World of Barbie\" Carrying Case (Model #1002): Features the iconic teal/blue vinyl exterior with graphics of Barbie\'s world. The top metal latch and black plastic carrying handle are intact. Inside, the cardboard shelving compartments are present, including the highly sought-after and fragile small cardboard insert box in the top tray.
• Assorted Vintage Clothing Lot: A diverse mix of vintage doll fashion, including a standout Mod-era black vinyl jacket, knitwear, denim separates, patterned dresses, skirts, and colorful athletic/beach pieces.
• Authenticity Note: While the garments do not retain their interior black-and-white fabric tags, several pieces show the distinct fabric prints, construction styles, and quality materials consistent with authentic vintage Mattel (Barbie/Francie) and contemporary 1960s/70s fashion doll lines (such as Ideal Tammy clone items).
Condition Notes:
• Case: In very good, vintage condition. The vinyl shows some minor surface wear, scuffs, and very light discoloration but overall is still very white with no writings or significant markings on it at all. The interior cardboard dividers show some typical softening and edge wear but remain structurally intact. Overall a GREAT storage Case!
• Clothing: Outfits are in mixed vintage condition. Some pieces look excellent and ready for display, while others may show minor seam wear, loose threads, or need light cleaning from decades of storage.
