Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of American folk art history: a hand-painted Scandinavian oval tina (tine) bentwood box by the highly celebrated rosemaling artist and Vesterheim Gold Medalist, Pat Virch.
This stunning piece is dated and signed "Pat Virch 1986" on the underside of the lid.

Style: Features an exquisite blend of traditional Norwegian rosemaling styles. The flowing, elegant acanthus C-scrolls and multi-tiered flowers showcase elements of the classic Telemark style, beautifully paired with the structured grid lattice-work and delicate liner work details of the Rogaland tradition.
Colorway: Hand-painted on a lovely slate-blue background, accented with warm shades of salmon pink, muted orange, soft yellow, and sage green scrolls.
Details: Includes a central turned wooden knob on the lid and a meticulous white-and-yellow teardrop scalloped border running along the lid rim.
Condition:Excellent vintage condition. The paint remains exceptionally vibrant and crisp. The wood structure is solid, well-preserved, and shows no significant drying, warping, or cracking.
