Vintage 1975 Amana Radarange (well cared for) Microwave oven. This machine runs great. I work on and repair vintage microwaves (uncertified) as a hobby and bring them back to life. This wasn’t needed on this microwave. I tested for leakage with my meter and scanned the seals, around the door to check to make sure everything was functional with no leakage both around the door and around the cabinet. I did spray paint the exterior cabinet as it had some rust spots on it from years of wear and tear. There are no dents or damage to the microwave window or the white interior seal around the door. All testing came out normal. I fixed the in interior microwave stir fan and replaced the ceiling splatter guard shield.
This microwave comes from a one owner (elderly) who bought it new. It’s been in storage (not sure how long )for quite awhile. You can see from the pictures it was well cared for over the years and hardly used. The microwave magnetron tube is very strong and all mechanics work great. The two timer dial knobs both have their lights functioning and work great. I replaced the lightbulb in the cavity of the microwave. There are some small rough areas in the chrome door, as it’s been in storage for so long. I did cleaned the microwave leakage seals all around the door and made sure that they weren’t leaking. I own an 1978 Amana RR-10 and the RR-4D (it offers a defrost cycle) heats better than my Amana.
The microwave comes with everything you see in the pictures including a 1975 Radarange cookbook, glass tray (original) and crockery pot designed specifically from Amana. The lid to the crockeryis not microwave safe. I purchased the cookbook off of . But it’s the exact one that comes with this model of microwave. There is a switch at the bottom of the analog dials that actually allow the microwave to beep (like an old dryer) or turn that function off and it just shuts off when it’s done.
