Vintage Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Guanyin Statue – Zeng Longsheng Mark – Sgraffito EnamelA beautifully detailed, vintage Chinese polychrome porcelain figural statue of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Standing elegantly atop a pedestal of swirling blue and gray ocean waves, she holds a sacred pearl between her fingers while cradling a stylized ruyi scepter over her left arm.In Buddhist tradition, Guanyin is a Bodhisattva—an enlightened being who chooses to remain in the earthly realm rather than entering Nirvana, dedicating themselves to hearing the cries of the suffering and helping humanity.

The craftsmanship is highly intricate, featuring a vibrant turquoise-glazed robe decorated with hand-carved sgraffito scrolling vectors. This base layer is intricately overlaid with heavily applied, raised famille rose style enameled lotus blossoms in shades of pink, yellow, and blue. Her cascading black-glazed hair cowl features an inner scrollwork border that contrasts beautifully against her finely modeled, serene porcelain skin.

The unglazed underside exhibits a prominent cloth-weave production footprint, a circular firing vent hole, and a crisp, impressed four-character square seal maker's mark reading “曾龙昇造” (Made by Zeng Longsheng).
