Beautiful vintage wool blanket by Early's of Witney, made under their "Witnedown" label in England. This is a classic red blanket with a black/dark burgundy stripe border, woven from 100% virgin wool — mothproofed and odourless per the original label.
Early's of Witney has a textile-making history dating back to 1669 in Witney, Oxfordshire, a town famous for centuries for its wool blanket production. The mill closed in 2002, making these authentic pieces increasingly hard to find.
Condition: Great vintage condition — soft, thick wool with vibrant color. Original label intact (some minor fraying to label edges, typical of age — see photos).
Measurements: 66" x 54" (please allow for slight variation, as is normal with vintage wool textiles)
