This is an Edwardian/Art Deco revival ring. Made in 1988 assayed in London. The stamp has initials \"AJ\" followed by year, crown, and lions head.
The prongs have been redone, the ruby itself is antique and has a deep pavilion and great color.
The ruby is antique and natural, earth mined from,\"(Ceylon/Sri Lanka)\". It is eye clean, 7.4mm wide, and 2.71cts total.
The ring is about 3mm wide. It is two tone, 18ct yellow gold band and a platinum prong coronet head. The rings size is US 5 3/4. The ring is made in the antique Edwardian Coronet setting that was very popular for the Edwardian period through art deco period. The platinum Coronet is original from the Edwardian period and the new yellow gold band was added much after probably for a repair/replacement job.
(Due to age of the gemstone I do not know if it has been heated or had any other treatments)
