For your consideration is a vintage H. Bettoney Boston B♭ clarinet mouthpiece. This hard rubber (ebonite) mouthpiece was manufactured by H. Bettoney of Boston, a respected American maker known for producing quality woodwind instruments and accessories during the early to mid-20th century. An increasingly uncommon piece, it would make a nice addition for a vintage clarinet player, collector, or anyone restoring a period-correct H. Bettoney instrument.
The mouthpiece remains in good vintage condition with normal cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. It shows surface scratches, light oxidation to the hard rubber, and typical signs of handling over the years. The original cork is still present, though worn from age and potentially needing replacement. The "H. BETTONEY BOSTON" stamp remains visible on the shank.
A careful visual inspection found no obvious or significant cracks, chips, or repairs present. The tip, rails, chamber, and table all appear to be in good condition based on visual examination. This mouthpiece has not been play-tested or professionally measured, so it is being sold as found and as pictured.
