Heinrich, or H & C, a long-time Bavarian producer of fine china, was bought by Villeroy & Boch in 1976; this pattern, CHAMBORD, was made from 1978 through 1989 - after V&B owned the company. Villeroy and Boch chose to continue using the Heinrich name for a period of time after the acquisition. So while this exquisite pattern is credited to (and marked) Heinrich, it was actually a Villeroy and Boch pattern during its entire production!
The lovely pattern evokes the manicured Renaissance gardens of France's Chateau du Chambord - with simple but elegant botanical floral sprays against pure white porcelain; the porcelain itself is embossed and ribbed, then delicately outlined in grass green.
