Vintage gentleman’s pocket-watch vest chain ensemble featuring an ornately engraved Hayward folding pocketknife, double-strand curb-link chain and matching engraved triangular decorative fob.
The chain hardware bears a partially visible maker’s mark and is also marked “1/20 12K,” indicating 12K gold-filled construction on the marked component. The folding knife is signed “Hayward” but does not have a visible gold-content mark; therefore, its exact metal composition is not guaranteed.
The knife has an engraved tapered handle with an unmonogrammed rectangular cartouche. Its single folding blade opens and closes. The triangular fob is engraved on the front and plain on the reverse.
