Genuine Hermès, Paris leather rocker desk blotter, design attributed to Paul Dupré-Lafon (1900–1971). Hermès became the exclusive maker of Dupré-Lafon's desk designs starting in 1929, a partnership that ran through the end of the 1950s and produced inkwells, lamps, and blotters like this one.Authentication: Three marks confirm Hermès manufacture: "HERMÈS. PARIS / DÉPOSÉ" gold-stamped on the leather underside, "HERMÈS·PARIS" embossed on the gilt spine of the blotter block, and model reference 0.123 stamped in gold at the base corner.Materials: Cognac calfskin, hand saddle-stitched in natural linen thread, wood rocker base, detachable semicircular handle on a brass threaded bolt and receiver, original gilt-edged blotting block intact.Date: Circa 1940s–1950s, France.Dimensions: 7.25" x 4" x 4"Condition: Honest age and use. Darkening and surface wear at the handle grip, light scuffing on the base top. No cracking.
