Vintage Japanese cast iron statue depicting Daikokuten, also known as Daikoku, one of Japan\'s Seven Lucky Gods and traditionally associated with prosperity, abundance and good fortune. Daikoku is depicted holding his traditional lucky mallet while standing alongside his sack and rice bale.
This is a substantial decorative sculpture measuring approximately 14.5 inches tall and weighing an impressive 11 pounds 8 ounces. The cast iron has a warm bronze-tone finish with darker patination that beautifully highlights the detailed facial features, clothing, barrel and other sculpted details.
The underside shows the original casting construction and age-related surface wear. No maker\'s signature has been located. Displays beautifully with no obvious major damage noted. Please review photographs carefully for exact condition.
