Vintage Oaxacan artist Josefina Aguilar signed shower scene figurine. The figurine has been hand crafted and hand painted. I purchased this item years ago at a Dallas gift shop that specialized in Mexican folk art. This piece reflects a woman showering. It has been signed by the artist. The figurine measures 6 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide.
Josefina is the matriarch of a huge family of Oaxacan clay artists, including several sisters and now her children. Her pieces are found in folk art museums across the US.
Sadly, Josefina passed away earlier this year. May she rest in peace!
