This vintage cast iron ambulance is a quintessential example of American toy manufacturing from the early 20th century, likely produced by the Kenton Hardware Company.
Kenton was renowned for their detailed cast iron vehicles, which were popular staples in American playrooms during the 1920s and 1930s. The heavy, durable construction and embossed
'AMBULANCE' lettering represent the high-quality craftsmanship of the era. Collectors value these pieces for their historical significance as survivors of early industrial toy design. While this specific piece shows significant surface oxidation and paint wear, which impacts its market value compared to pristine specimens, it remains highly sought after by collectors of antique cast iron toys. Its aesthetic appeal lies in its rugged, authentic patina, representing a classic slice of Americana.
