Vintage Maxfield Parrish print of The Lute Players (also known as Interlude), published by The House of Art, N.Y.
This is a period 1920s commercial lithograph of Parrish’s famous 1922 composition of three classically dressed young women with lutes on a terrace overlooking a rocky landscape. The publisher mark © The House of Art N.Y. is printed in the image at lower right.
NOT Daybreak. A previous owner wrote “Daybreak” and “Maxfield Parrish” on the paper backing. The image is The Lute Players / Interlude.

• Backing: Original-style kraft paper, torn and lifting in places, with handwritten notes
Overall framed measurements 10.75” x 6.75”
Condition
• Print: Colors still visible and attractive; some age toning and surface texture under glass. Not examined out of frame.
• Frame: Honest wear consistent with age — chipped and worn paint, especially at corners and along the gold lip. Structurally sound as shown.
• Glass: Present. Please expect typical vintage dust or haze.
• Backing paper is fragile and incomplete.
House of Art issued these in several sizes; this is the smaller format.
