Item up for sale is a remarkable vintage mid century or earlier oil on artist board painting depicting a Damascus street scene. This piece was done with an impasto technique with layered paint showing some wear and loss to peaks and edges of layered paint consistent with age and display. Item is signed in the lower left with what appears to us to say MDKDNA DAN or some variation of that name. Surface of the painting shows areas of soiling consistent with age and display. Item has no glass covering the painting and will come with any. Artist board exhibits paint residue, some handwriting and soiling / patina on the verso with the artist board showing some light bowing in the framing.Painting was found in it\'s original framing consistent of a wooden frame with gold tone paint that shows age appropriate wood and finish / paint wear and loss. Interior framing is painted white and shows soiling, paint / finish wear and areas of discoloration consistent with age and display. Original hanging wire is place on the back side and appears to be in good, functional condition. Artwork itself measures 9-7/8\" top to bottom by 27-1/2\" wide. Framed display as a whole measures 13-7/8\" top to bottom by 31-5/8\" wide by 0-7/8\" thick. Incredible piece of original artwork that comes fresh to the market from a recent estate buyout where it sat hidden away for decades before just now seeing the light of day once again.
