Here we have an early vintage Peak Performance modified brushed motor from my personal RC motor collection.
This is a Yokomo-based modified motor featuring the distinctive yellow Peak Performance label, black can, gold-plated endbell heatsinks, and external brush springs.
The armature is a 16-turn quad wind (16x4).
This motor has recently been disassembled and thoroughly serviced, including:
• Armature ultrasonically cleaned
• Commutator freshly turned with a diamond bit
• New motor brushes installed
• Internals thoroughly cleaned
• Bearings cleaned and lubricated
• Reassembled and bench-tested
The motor runs smoothly and was tested at 5 VDC, drawing approximately 2.48 amps with no load.
The motor shows typical cosmetic wear from age and previous use, including scratches and finish wear on the black can. The original-style yellow Peak Performance label presents nicely. Please examine the photographs carefully for overall condition.
A great piece of vintage RC racing history, whether you’re restoring a period-correct RC10, Losi, Yokomo, or simply adding to your collection of classic modified motors.
Includes the motor and clear storage tube shown in the photographs.
Please review all photos, as they are part of the description.
