USS Dixon (AS-37) was an L. Y. Spear-class submarine tender commissioned into the United States Navy on August 7, 1971.
Submarine tenders were floating support facilities capable of providing maintenance, repair, supplies and other services to Navy submarines and their crews.
USS Dixon spent much of her career supporting the submarine force from San Diego and remained in U.S. Navy service for more than 24 years.
The ship was decommissioned on December 15, 1995 and later sunk as a target during a U.S. fleet training exercise in 2003.
