Description Offered for your consideration is a vintage thermometer advertising for W. M. Shaeffer Inc., of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania. The company sold hardware, and also the Vita-Var Paint line, which is included on the advertising. I am dating this item to around the 1940s, based on the presented 5-digit phone number. The thermometer is made of boxwood(?), with grass-green lettering/graphics. Overall, the piece is in very good 'as found' condition. All of the graphics are clear and legible, and the thermometer appears to read accurately. There is some patina to the wood due to age, and there are no significant scratches and no denting. The thermometer includes a drilled hole at the top to allow for display. It measures 8" x 1 3/4" and has a weight of about 3 ounces.
