Up for sale/sale is an exceptionally rare, highly collectible 1930s Art Deco Bakelite figural tambourine brooch. While the multicolored tambourine design is a well-documented premium "book piece" style, most known examples were produced as hanging charms suspended from a separate bar pin. This incredibly unique variation was manufactured as an independent, standalone brooch featuring a factory-integrated pinback mechanism mounted directly to the solid reverse side.
The piece has oxidized beautifully into a vibrant, rich butterscotch/orange body, beautifully accented by four distinct multicolored circular Bakelite "jingle" discs in olive green, deep red, and maroon. The discs are secured

Good Vintage Condition with Defect (Please Read): This brooch features exceptional color and an incredibly rare standalone configuration. Please note there is an open, vertical hairline crack on the front upper outer rim near one of the vertical pillars (clearly shown in the side-view photo). While the Bakelite remains structurally stable, firm, and fully wearable, this fracture is present. The multicolored jingle discs, original brass pins, and reverse-side pin mechanism are completely solid and intact. Priced accordingly for its condition—a phenomenal, highly elusive "gap-filler" piece for a serious Art Deco collection.
