Vtg Hand Painted Wood Wall Cutouts Set 9 Pinocchio Big Bad Wolf ClownsVintage set of 9 hand cut and hand painted wooden character wall cutouts featuring a wonderful mix of classic storybook, cartoon and circus-inspired characters.The collection includes figures resembling Pinocchio, Lampwick, Geppetto and Disney\'s Big Bad Wolf, along with a distinctive dapper anthropomorphic cat with cane and three colorful circus clowns. The characters have exaggerated expressions, clothing and poses typical of mid-century cartoon and storybook illustration.Each piece is individually cut from thin wood/plywood and hand painted with bold black outlines in a coordinated palette of green, yellow, brown, orange, red and black. The consistent construction, painting style and colors indicate that the pieces were created as a coordinated collection.Research into the construction and artwork suggests these may have been made using the type of full-size trace-and-cut woodworking patterns that were popular with home crafters during the mid-20th century. Companies including U-Bild and Craftplans offered this type of pattern during the period; however, the exact pattern source and maker of this set have not been confirmed.No maker\'s marks or labels were found. Some pieces retain their original-style metal hanging hardware on the backs while others do not.ConditionGood overall vintage condition with age-related wear. There are scattered areas of paint loss, scratches, scuffs, edge wear, small nicks and exposed wood. The Big Bad Wolf figure has a broken/missing portion of the cigar or object in his hand. Some pieces have hanging hardware and some do not. No restoration has been attempted.
