This work is titled \"The Crying Seas\" and is a rare example of an ecology message
concealed within abstract art. We see tear streaks in the waters, which is
an interesting visual concept since one wonders exactly how seas of water
can cry! This is an absorbing abstract painting with deep meaning.
Rachel Carson published \"The Sea Around Us\" in 1951 and besides informing
people about the seas it raised public awareness of the fragile ocean ecology.
In the 20th century, painters were often capturing social statements with
their abstract works. This work is part of that great tradition.
\"The Crying Seas\" is written in ink verso on frame.
Excellent Condition. Very light age wear to frame and canvas.
A thoughtful abstract painting for the discerning collector!
