Up for sale is a rare, historically significant World War 1 Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) featuring an identified U.S. Marine, Bob Boyce. This postcard offers a definitive, verified artifact from a USMC service member deployed to Europe. While Marine Boyce is pictured in the standard-issue Army olive drab wool uniform (which was standard logistical practice for Marines attached to the US Army’s 2nd Infantry Division on the Western Front), his Marine Corps identity is clearly proven by the crisp WW1-era Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblem affixed to his overseas cap. The back of the postcard features a beautifully preserved, complete handwritten letter from Marine Boyce addressed to his "Mother, Father, and Sisters." Written with a playful and touching tone, it is dated March 7, 1919, from Niederbritbach, Germany, where the 4th Marine Brigade was stationed during post-armistice occupation duties before heading home.
