Up for sale is an authentic, historically fascinating German Mauser Infantry Bayonet manufactured by the highly collectible firm Simson & Co. of Suhl, Germany.Simson & Co. holds a legendary place in military history as the primary contractor permitted to manufacture and refurbish military edged weapons during the Weimar Republic era following WWI. Because of the limited production numbers allowed under post-war treaty restrictions, weapons from this manufacturer are highly sought after today.Markings:

• Ricasso Stamp: Clearly and crisply stamped \"SIMSON & CO. SUHL\" at the base of the blade.
• Crossguard Stamp: Vertically stamped with the military or unit tracking serial number 4113.

Condition:

• Mechanism: The spring-loaded locking press-stud button on the pommel is fully operational, moves freely, and springs back smoothly.
• Blade: In good antique/vintage condition. The steel shows an honest, uncleaned dark grey patina with light pitting and battlefield wear consistent with age. The edge remains unmarred by heavy modern grinding.
• Hilt / Handle: The original wooden grip scales are completely intact, securely attached, and exhibit a beautiful dark, oil-stained patina from handling.
