Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible antique fine bone china teacup and saucer duo manufactured by Wileman & Co at the Foley Potteries in Fenton, England. This rare set predates the famous Shelley branding and features the highly sought-after Daisy shape, which was officially registered under design number Rd 115510 in December 1888. The set is finished in a gorgeous, glossy pastel light blue colorway with a distinct gold-gilded, faux-bamboo style handle, cataloged under hand-painted pattern number 4050.The teacup features the classic green Wileman crown backstamp utilized between 1891 and 1910, along with the hand-painted gold pattern number. The matching saucer does not have a printed green factory back stamp on the reverse side, featuring only the handwritten gold pattern number 4050 and a faint, impressed registration number under the glaze, which is standard for many production pieces from this era. Regarding condition, there is a TINY nick or tiny fleabite chip on the gold gilded top rim of the teacup as highlighted in the close-up photograph. There is also some minor, age-appropriate rubbing to the gold trim on the scalloped edges of both pieces and light surface wear visible on the face of the saucer from handling over the years.
