Yuletide Camellia in 3 Gal Pot Outdoor Flowering Gardxen Plant Starter PlantThe Yuletide Camellia (Camellia sasanqua \'Yuletide\') is a beautiful evergreen shrub prized for its vibrant red-orange flowers that bloom from fall into early winter. Its relatively compact size and hardiness make it a great addition to any garden.
LightPrefers partial shade. While Camellia sasanqua varieties can tolerate more sun than Camellia japonica, the Yuletide Camellia does best in a location with morning sun and afternoon shade.
Avoid hot, direct afternoon sun, especially in warmer climates, as it can scorch the leaves and stress the plant.
Soil and PlantingAcidic, well-draining soil is essential. Camellias thrive in soil with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Amend heavy or clay soils with organic matter like pine bark or compost to improve drainage.
Planting: When planting, ensure the top of the root ball is at or slightly above the soil level. Planting too deep is a common mistake and can lead to root rot.
WateringConsistent moisture is key. Camellias do not like to dry out completely. Water regularly, especially during dry spells and in the fall as flower buds are forming.
Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. The soil should be consistently moist but never soggy.
FertilizingFertilize in the spring after blooming. Use a slow-release, acid-forming fertilizer formulated specifically for camellias, azaleas, and rhododendrons.
Do not fertilize in the summer or fall, as this can burn new growth or the delicate flower buds.
PruningPrune after blooming is complete. The best time to prune is in late winter or early spring, just before the new growth appears.
Trim to shape the plant and remove any dead or damaged branches. You can also prune to improve air circulation within the plant, which helps prevent fungal diseases.

Once your new plants arrive we recommend not to repot or fertilize your new arrivals for at least 4 weeks, plants shipped online are in complete darkness for several days, is normal for plants to stress during this process, We recommend to allow the plants to climatize to their new environment, place the plant(s) in a low to medium light area for several days so it can gradually transition and adjust to light, after a few days you may transition it to bright indirect light as close as possible to a window or glass door. You may water if soil is dry, if moist allow the soil to dry before watering, it may take 7-12 days depending on the size of the plant.

!!! In the event your plant(s) do not arrive in healthy conditions we ask that you contact us as soon as possible, provide details images supporting the reason(s) for damages, you can count on us for advise or possible solutions, or provide a replacement plant if needed at no cost to you.

In cases where buyers do not provide proper care or purchase plants outside of your recommended growing zone, your purchase will not be covered by our guarantee.
