Vintage Zenith Royal 7000 Trans-Oceanic RD7000Y 11-band portable radio, featuring FM, shortwave, VHF/weather, and additional broadcast bands.
The radio has been function tested on AC power and is working. It powers on properly, FM receives stations clearly, and the VHF band receives weather broadcasts. While tuning through the other bands, the radio produces normal frequency/static changes and signal activity at various points across the dial.
The radio also produces strong, clear sound with the full, solid character you would expect from a good-quality solid-state radio of this period. Volume and tone controls are working properly, and the tuning mechanism operates as it should.
The built-in compass turns when rotated by hand, although it does not appear to spin freely and may need cleaning or adjustment.
Battery operation has not been tested because I do not currently have the required batteries. There is some visible corrosion in the battery compartment, likely from old batteries having been left installed. The radio functions properly on AC power, but battery operation is being listed as untested.
The dial/light bulb is missing, so the lighting function could not be tested.
Cosmetically, the radio presents well overall for its age. There are a few small rust/corrosion-type spots on the chrome trim and some minor separation of the exterior covering along the sides, but nothing that significantly detracts from its overall appearance.
Please review all photos closely for exact cosmetic condition, battery compartment condition, controls, compass, labels, and included components. Only what is shown in the photos is included.
