The 1983 Japanese edition is significant because Toshiba-EMI relaunched theBlue Note BLP 1500 seriesthat year. BLP-1530 was included in the October 21, 1983 group. The first pressings in this series had aheavy, flat-weight vinyland coated jacket. SLEEVE - very clean, nice corners outside of one corner bump, nice glossy coat on jacket. VINYL - nice gloss, clean vinyl, nice insert. Plays great on both sides with a night club type of sound although not a live recording before an audience. ALSO this recording is the final document of a pianist who had been receiving serious attention from Alfred Lion and Blue Note but then voluntarily disappeared from the jazz scene.
