Original late-19th-century French advertising trade card promoting the insecticide “L’Inconnu” (“The Unknown”). The front features bold blue typography with a caricatured face and insect imagery, while the reverse presents a lively chromolithographed scene of uniformed figures wearing branded “ZAN” packs, illustrating the product’s supposed effectiveness.

Printed in France and marked “En vente partout” (sold everywhere), with printer credit F. Appel, Paris. These humorous and often surreal insecticide cards were widely distributed in the circa 1890s–early 1900s period and are highly collectible for their graphic design and satirical tone.
