Vintage 1940s-50s Girl Scouts USA Grouping: Occupied Japan Era
THE HIGHLIGHTS:
Origin: Found together in a "Made in Occupied Japan" purse; likely from an overseas US military troop (circa 1949–1952).
The Purse: Multicolor beaded child’s handbag with original cloth label.
Insignia & Patches: * "GIRL SCOUTS U.S.A." shoulder strip & shield.
Pins: Green GS tab pin & brass-tone fleur-de-lis pin (horizontal safety-pin style fastener).
CONDITION REPORT:
Status: "Sold as Found" – No cleaning or restoration attempted.
Details: Good vintage condition. Expect period-correct edge fraying, loose threads, and light soiling from authentic use.
Authenticity Note: Round patches feature hand-finished fold-over borders and slightly irregular shapes, consistent with early mid-century manufacturing.
COLLECTOR'S NOTE:A rare and evocative "time capsule" grouping. The combination of Occupied Japan labeling and GSUSA military housing history makes this a significant find for Girl Scout or Post-WWII historians.
