This is a single-volume edition of Horne’s biography of Napoleon. It includes an engraved frontispiece portrait and many in-text illustrations showing campaigns, battles, and scenes from military and political life.
Condition: Sound copy with some mild wear, toning and foxing. Binding and hinges holding well. Spine ends and corners rubbed; corners bumped. Mild wear to spine lettering and design. Foxing to edges and first/last few pages; toned edges throughout. Gift inscription (1885) at front blank. No markings to text. Faint \'old book\' scent consistent with age (no mustiness or tobacco).
