Rare 1908 2 volume set, FIRST EDITION THUS, hardcovers no dust jacket as issued. Dark green cloth boards with moderate edge and shelf wear, corners lightly bumped and scuffed, rubbed ends of spine, gilt text and designs on spine are still clear and bright. NOT EX LIBRARY! Strong tight binding, hinges starting to crack volume 2 is front hinge is a little worse but still attached, cut pages, front and bottom text blocks are clean, moderately toned, top block is a bit dust soiled and slightly darker. Inside, neither copy has any marks or writing of any kind including now ownership marking, no creased damaged or soiled pages, inside covers and end pages show a bit of foxing. Volume 1 has a fold out map inside back cover still fully intact and attached, tissue between title page and picture is still intact. The pictures 7&8 of 9 are of hinge cracking in Volume II. Very solid copies for a great value!
