As a long-time vintage pressed steel hobbyist, I evaluate my items meticulously to ensure complete transparency. This plane has been professionally restored and repainted. It looks absolutely stunning for display, but please note the following details:
- Paint & Body: Smoothly repainted in black and orange. The body is completely free of scratches, chips, or play wear. Under close inspection, minor historical rust pitting from the original metal can be seen beneath the paint, resulting in a slight "orange peel" texture.
- Graphics: The "Detroit Aircraft Lockheed Vega" tail graphics are clean, crisp reproduction clear stickers, not the water slide decals the manufacturer used.
- Bonus Included: This sale includes one extra original orange stamped steel tail fin.— perfect for your own restoration parts bin!
Please see all photos to appreciate the quality of this restoration work. A beautiful, clean centerpiece for any 1930s aviation or pressed steel toy collection. Boxed with extreme care and shipped securely. Please message me with any questions that you may have. I did not do the restoration work as that was completed by the late last owner.
