Literary Newsette - Number 1 - April 1941
Original inaugural issue of Literary Newsette, published in Wyandotte, Michigan. Its illustrated front includes Alma L. Weixelbaum's "Sorrow Endureth for the Night But Joy Cometh with the Morning," amateur-press news headed "Groveman Bows Out," and an editorial column signed Burton Smith at 524 Chestnut Street. University of Iowa Special Collections independently identifies Burton Jay Smith as the founder and dates the first issue to April 1941. Willametta Turnepseed joined as co-editor only from issue 7 onward; she is not attributed as an editor of this number.
Condition and scope
Age toning, prominent horizontal fold, light surface soil, and modest edge/corner wear.
