Literary Newsette - Number 16 - August 22, 1941
Original early issue of the amateur-press journal Literary Newsette, dated Brighton, Michigan. The illustrated front carries a Mid-West Conference announcement for Hotel Secor, Toledo, August 30-31 and September 1, with a hand-drawn regional map. University of Iowa Special Collections records that Burton Jay Smith began the journal in April 1941 and that Willametta Turnepseed co-edited it from issue 7 onward; this issue is numbered 16. The university holds a substantial run of the journal.
Condition and scope
Age toning, light handling and surface wear, and minor edge/corner wear. Text from the reverse shows through the paper. Only the photographed side is documented; reverse, page count and completeness have not been independently checked.
