Antique 1850s–1860s Flat-Top China Doll – Wooden Hands – Early Cloth Body –Wonderful early antique German flat-top china shoulder-head doll, believed to date to approximately the 1850s–1860s.She has a beautiful glazed china face with molded black flat-top hairstyle, painted blue eyes, rosy cheeks and a delicate closed mouth. Her face retains wonderful expression and displays beautifully.What makes this doll particularly interesting is her early body construction. She retains an old cloth body with carved wooden lower arms and hands, along with layers of period-style clothing and undergarments.She comes dressed with a green dress, white undergarments and a wonderful floral corset-style garment with red ribbon lacing.PLEASE NOTE CONDITION: This is a very old doll being sold as found and as is. The china shoulder plate has significant cracks and old damage, which can clearly be seen in the photographs. The body, wooden hands, clothing and fabrics also show considerable wear and aging. No attempt has been made to disguise her condition.
