Antique Charles Martin Limoges Cabinet Plate.An exceptional 10-inch hard-paste porcelain plate from the Belle Epoque era, made by Charles Martin in Limoges, France, circa 1891-1914. The reverse bears the underglaze green ribbon mark \"LIMOGES / FRANCE\" and the overglaze blue triangular stamp with the CM monogram. The central mirror features a magnificent hand-painted vignette depicting a romantic bouquet of fully bloomed garden roses and buds in rich cream, blush pink, and deep magenta. This artwork is framed by a solid band of burnished liquid gold with intricate hand-etched scrollwork. The exceptionally wide rim is covered in an opulent, heavy encrusted gold relief pattern executed via the masterful acid-etched gold technique (Acid Gold), showcasing elaborate Neo-Renaissance acanthus foliage, scrolling arabesques, and classical elements, culminating in a scalloped rim with a crisp geometric gilt edge. The pristine plate is preserved in excellent antique condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, or restorations.
