Antique Galluba & Hofmann Attributed Bathing Beauty 5.5” Lingerie Wig
This beautiful antique German bisque bathing beauty measures approximately 5½ inches long. She reclines with her legs extended and her graceful, finely modeled hands raised beside her face. She has a softly painted expression, a full blonde wig, and especially lovely iridescent pink slippers.
She wears a delicate lingerie ensemble of pink ribbon and metallic lace. The contrast between the soft fabrics and finely painted bisque makes her a striking example of these early bathing beauties. Her modeling and presentation are consistent with Galluba & Hofmann, although I have not found a visible maker’s mark, so the attribution is offered with that qualification. She likely dates to the early 20th century, circa 1910–1920.
Condition: I have not found any chips, cracks, or repairs to the bisque. The lingerie appears complete as shown, with some expected age-related wear to the delicate materials. The wig has a few loose hairs. Please examine all photographs as part of the condition description.
