📝 Beautiful antique Pairpoint Mfg. Co. quadruple silver-plated pickle castor / condiment jar stand, marked with the Pairpoint diamond “P” hallmark and factory pattern number 890.
Pairpoint Manufacturing Company was established in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1880 and became well known for decorative silver-plated wares and elaborate metal mounts used with fine art glass.
This ornate Victorian-era frame features floral and foliage decoration, openwork side supports, decorative finials, and a distinctive rotating/hanging style mechanism between the upper and lower sections.
The bottom is clearly stamped:

The term “Quadruple Plate” refers to a heavier silver-plating process commonly advertised on higher-quality late-19th-century American silver-plated hollowware.
This piece likely dates to approximately the late 1800s, circa 1880–1900, and would originally have held a decorative glass pickle or condiment jar. The complete set may also originally have included serving tongs.
An interesting survivor from the Victorian dining-table era and a great restoration, display, or replacement piece for a Pairpoint collector.
