Beautiful antique Tiffany & Co. sterling silver salt and pepper shaker set featuring an elegant reeded vase-form design with matching script monograms.

Both pieces are fully marked on the underside TIFFANY & CO. / 9845 MAKERS 1855 / STERLING / 925-1000 / T.

Pattern 9845 is a documented Tiffany & Co. design, and the “T” directorship mark dates production to approximately 1891–1902. The number 9845 represents the Tiffany pattern/design number; 1855 is a production/order number and should not be interpreted as a manufacture date.

The pair retains its threaded, removable pierced shaker tops. The two tops have differing perforation arrangements consistent with their use as a salt and pepper pair.

Condition: Antique, pre-owned condition with substantial age-related patina, oxidation, surface scratches, small marks and general wear consistent with age. The pedestal/base on one shaker is slightly bent/uneven, as visible in the photographs. The shaker remains intact and displays upright. The pierced tops retain considerable dark oxidation/tarnish.

The pair has been lightly cleaned while intentionally retaining much of the original-looking patina and character. No attempt has been made to straighten the slightly bent pedestal.
