Beautiful antique edition of Thomas Moore\'s classic Lalla Rookh, published by M. A. Donohue & Co., 407–429 Dearborn St., Chicago.
This attractive edition features an elaborate deeply embossed decorative hardcover, floral and scrollwork designs, and gilt “LALLA ROOKH” lettering on the front cover. The book also includes decorative patterned endpapers, an illustrated title page, and a portrait frontispiece of Thomas Moore.
The book is undated but appears to date from approximately the late 1800s to early 1900s / circa 1900.
Condition: Antique condition with age-related wear. Cover retains attractive embossed decoration and gilt lettering. There is noticeable wear and separation/deterioration along portions of the spine and outer binding, as shown in the photographs. Corners and edges show wear. Interior pages show age toning and occasional spotting but remain generally clean and readable. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
