Based on iconic early 1960s Precision Bass pickups, this hand-wound split single-coil set delivers the classic P-Bass fundamental bottom end with enhanced warmth, extra high-end definition, and punchy tonal depth. By slightly overwinding the coils, we’ve added harmonic richness while retaining the dynamic warmth and thump that made the early 60s era legendary.
Tonal Profile & Characteristics
Thump and Growl: The split-coil design paired with an alder body and rosewood slab fretboard yields a fat, organic fundamental low-end with that characteristic upper-mid growl when played hard.
Woody Fingerstyle: Plucking near the neck or using palm muting produces a round, warm, and upright-adjacent \"woody\" thump famous on countless Motown and classic rock tracks.
Pick Articulation: Playing with a pick adds an aggressive, snappy attack that drives rock and funk lines without getting harsh in the high frequencies.
Overall Feel: Rich, responsive, and expressive, adding more depth and tonal versatility to your bass.
