Offered for sale is a vintage Keystone Locomotive Works HO-108 G.E. 44-Ton Diesel Locomotive, assembled and finished as Canadian National #3.

The original Keystone box is clearly marked:HO-108 – G.E. 44 Ton Diesel Locomotive Kit.

Keystone originally offered the HO-108 as a powered locomotive kit featuring NWSL gearing and a Sagami motor.

This example has been fully assembled and custom finished in an attractive Canadian National green and yellow scheme with road number 3.

The locomotive features a classic center-cab 44-ton switcher body with fine handrails, cab glazing, detailed side panels, metal truck assemblies and visible gear-driven running gear underneath.

Canadian National owned prototype GE 44-ton locomotives numbered 3 through 5, making this road number an especially appropriate and interesting Canadian prototype for this model.

General Electric built the famous 44-ton diesel switcher primarily for light switching, industrial service and yard duties.

Its compact center-cab arrangement gave crews excellent visibility in both directions and made the design ideal for industrial trackage, terminals and small yards.

Canadian National operated several GE 44-tonners, including locomotives numbered 3, 4 and 5.

The prototype represented by road number #3 belonged to a three-unit group constructed for Canadian National in 1956.
